Superheat is a refrigerant charging calculator for the iPhone/iPod Touch. This simple to use application allows you to choose between two refrigerant types (R410A and R22), and will calculate the proper charge by choosing wet bulb, dry bulb and the vapor pressure and temperature.

Future planned updates include a fully custom UI as well as the addition of other refrigerants as requested.

Pros and cons of Superheat app for iPhone and iPad

Superheat app good for

The upgrade is right on the money. R22 or 410A. The two refrigerants I us everyday. Also I am able to pick the refrigerant I want as the default. 5 stars in my book. Keep up the great work Dan. I will pass on the word about your HVAC programs.
Awesome app!!! People who write poor reviews obviously dont know what their doing clean the coils first n make sure u have full airflow before checking pressures also if ur running 45 psi on r22 ur at 20* saturation in the evap coil thats not low on refrigerant ur flooding the coil try getting some air flow or taking coolant out learn trade before smashing the apps this one is awesome best out there *Note* to change refrigerant tap r22 or 410a on the top!!!!
I use this app everyday at work on my iPhone and iPad2. It works great for R-22 & R-410a Thats the only two its got but for working on res homes its great I love it.
Works well. If you need the app to tell you what your actual Superheat is than you need to get in some classes : )
Great App! Thank you for fixing the "overcharge" "undercharged" part! I have my guys use this app and this app only in the field when charging a Non-TXV system every day. It is the best app for doing so that Ive found yet. Thank you again! - Dale

Some bad moments

Bad thing about this calculator is that vapor pressure (r22) starts at 61 psi. Im checking system that is low on refrigirant 45 psi . I cant use this calculator if pressure in the system is lower than 61 psi.
A little hard to get Superheat without input for outside ambient.
Doesnt account for problems like poor air flow or dirty coils. Gives false recommendations. Can you say over charge?
Dont waste your money. Only has 2 refrigerant types. Not accurate.
I used this app everyday, and often, but Today I updated.. Bad idea.. I liked the old layout much better, it was far more intuitive. And now it tells me Im undercharged when In fact its over charged. 5° of Superheat is normally overcharged. Not undercharged. Just saying. Please correct this
